                         India is a land of saints and seers and is one of  the most frequent visited places in the world because of its vastness and diverse  potential to entertain a tourist in all the areas. The rivers of India have  been well related to different civilizations and cultures and have been a  source for the development of agriculture.  
                           
There are many rivers like the Jhelum in the  Kashmir, then there is sindh in Leh and the famous river by the name Ganges. In  the east, there are rivers like Brahmaputra. Apart from this, other rivers in  India are Cauvery, Tapti and have a great significance.  
 
Ganges has a very important significance in the  texts of Hinduism. It is said that the sins of the individual are wiped off  when he has a holy dip in the river Ganges. The river has the starting point in  the Himalayas and is one of the paramount rivers of India.  
 
The river that flows in Delhi and Agra is named  Yamuna.  There are legends associated  with this river when lord Krishna used to play on the banks of this river.  Different rivers flow in the different regions and each one carries  significance.
