Ranakpur is well-known for some marvelous carved Jain temples built throughout the regime of Rana Kumbha of Mewar in 1439 Ad. Ranakpur is ranked amongst the five holiest pilgrimage center of the Jain religion, exceptional in its architecture splendor and elegance.
The temple shrines include 24 halls with beautiful carved 1440 pillars. All the pillars are unique in on their own, with each and every one adorned with intricate and delicate work. Probably the most renowned central temple devoted to the Jain Thirthankara Adinath ji, is also known as Chaumukha- four-faced.
Falna
The nearest railhead to Ranakpur is Falna, it can be at a distance of 35 Kilometers. Falna is also embellished with some beautiful Jain Temples.
The Jain Golden Temple in Falna, a tiny city in Rajasthan includes a special attraction worldwide. It can be the first temple that has been created from the folks from the Jain neighborhood. The specialty in the temple is that, from the Falna city alone about 90 Kg.
of gold was donated with the girls with the Jain neighborhood for the idolization of temple dome and Lords idol. The Golden Jain Temple was inaugurated by Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Vice-President of India, the ceremony was also attended by other celebrities.
All efforts are undertaken to develop suitable amenities and infrastructure at Falna to facilitate far more tourist, visitors and pilgrims towards the temple. The total Falna-Sirohi region has an affluent Jain heritage of artwork and tradition and it's also creating as great tourist attraction, other than becoming a spiritual center.
