India is a land of spirituality and to attain the spiritual perfection, you have to go to ashram. It is also called hermitage, a place of self realization. Generally the ashrams are located in the secluded places like mountains or forests.
The people living in the ashrams do rigorous exercises of yoga to keep themselves tuned with the divine.
There are some highly revered ashrams in India. One is at Rishikesh. This was founded by the revered swami Sivananda in the year 1936. Another one is very famous by the name Sabarmati ashram. It was the place where the father of the nation mahatma Gandhi lived during the days of independence.
Amaravati is considerable to Buddhists and Hindus as the temple is devoted to Lord Shiva besides the Buddhist sculptures. The architecture of this temple exhibits the Dravidian style.
